The Merit Apprenticeship Alliance is seeking hardworking, honest, healthy minded Laborer apprentices.
The Merit Apprenticeship Alliance will provide you with on-the-job training (OJT) (through employment with our contractors) and classroom training in the Laborer trade (the cost of training is paid from the benefit fund).
On-the-job training involves physical labor in heavy highway, building and environmental construction.
Sounds ok, but what is the pay? On prevailing wage projects (sometimes known as 'union' scale), first term apprentices will earn between $17 and $21.
45 per hour.
All wages will increase every 6-12 months.
On private projects (during the slow season) first term apprentices will earn at least $17per hour.
Typically, apprentices work mostly on public projects.
